WHAT DO WE DO?

• We are the global leader in processing transaction data of all kinds. By harnessing the power of that data and delivering innovations in secure infrastructure, intelligence and insight, we help merchants and financial institutions grow their businesses and take advantage of new market opportunities.
• We counsel businesses on how to leverage their data and anticipate customer demands through our four “centers of excellence”: security, analytics, customer loyalty and mobile payments.
• We facilitate merchants’ ability to accept credit and debit cards by authorizing, capturing and settling merchants’ credit, debit, stored-value and loyalty card transactions. We also provide point-of-sale (POS) devices and other equipment necessary to capture merchant transactions.
• We provide credit and debit card processing services to financial institutions and other issuers of cards. These services include maintenance of cardholder accounts, authorizing and posting of consumer transactions, generating and printing cardholder statements, card embossing, fraud and risk management services.
• We operate the STAR® Network, a coast-to-coast debit/ATM network and an expert in secure, real-time electronic transactions.
• We facilitate the acceptance of consumer transactions at the point of sale. These transactions can be made at physical merchant locations, over the Internet or at an ATM.
• We provide services that verify that a check writer does not have a history of writing bad checks, or guarantee that checks presented to merchants for payment will be collectible.
